<br />Rare never before seen Whitney Houston live performance. This 1996 performance was recorded at Black Entertainment Television at the second annual BET Walk of Fame. Ironically this was the same day Tupac was murdered. <br /><p><a href="http://media.uqast.com/flvVideo/6687_6915_whitneyfree.flv.mov"><img src="http://www.uqast.com/globals/inc/image_output.php?image=http://media.uqast.com/VideoThumbs/6687_thumb.jpg&cap=https://www.uqast.com/tpl/iqast_new/en/images/player_logo.jpg" alt="An Evening With Whitney Houston Rare Concert 1996" height="300" width="560"></a></p><br />

Rare Whitney Houston Live Performance 1996 BET Walk of Fame Honoree

This is one of several songs performed by the late Whitney Houston in September 1996. It was the second annual BET Walk of Fame in Washington DC.

Michael Jackson was the first honoree the previous year. To my knowledge both Walk of Fame stars can be seen in front of the old black production building on the Washington DC BET campus.

I’ve spent many years as a BET insider working on numerous projects and shows. Most of my times inside the studios of BET were documented either by video or photographs.

This was one of those nights I will never forget. But it was the day leading up to the night that only a chosen few had access to. I was one of those people.

Whitney was pregnant, the day was long and there was other drama happening in the music world. It was the day Tupac was killed.

The entire 32 minute mini-concert was being planned for a spring release prior to the death of this incredibly gifted and talented angel from heaven.

Renee’, my wife, and I offer our sincere condolences to the entire Houston family. Especially to her mother Cissy and daughter Bobbi Christina. Stay strong young sister, God won’t give you more than you can handle.
